Northwestern Michigan College business students are teaming up with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwestern Michigan to give you an opportunity to help a child in need. The Big Little Hero Race is taking place April 18 on the beautiful NMC campus. We are looking for community members, local businesses, avid runners, and anyone seeking fun family events to join us, and be a hero for at risk children. The Big Little Hero Race will feature both a 5K and 10K, as well as a one mile fun run for the whole family. Both races will start at the Health and Science building on the NMC main campus, and feature routes that allow runners to take in the picturesque views along East Bay. Both races will be officially timed by Endurance Evolution. Awards will be given for top overall male and female. Be sure to register by April 1 to secure your technical race tee shirt. Held just a month before the popular Bayshore Marathon, this is a great opportunity to gauge how your training is going. Aside from the fun run, there will be many other family friendly events. We encourage everyone to join us after the race for food and fun. The best part of the day will be seeing all of the creative super hero costumes, so don’t forget to come dressed as your favorite. Prizes will be given for best adult male, female and group costumes, as well as prizes for best child costume, both boy and girl. Not a runner, but still want to support this great cause? Please consider being a sponsor! The main goal of the Big Little Hero Race is to raise funds, and awareness for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwestern Michigan. Local businesses and community members can all be heroes, and are encouraged to donate generously. There are four different sponsorship levels, each with their own perks, and even the smallest bit helps. With your help, this super event is sure to make a difference in our community.
