• 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM: Bake Sale… sweet treats for a sweet cause! 🧁
Saturday, April 19, 2025 – Race Day Fun!
Location: NMC Front Street Campus / TJNIC Cedar Lot 📍
• 8:15 AM to 9:45 AM: Morning Packet Pick-Up (TJNIC 106/107) 🎒
• 9:00 AM: Superhero Fun Run kicks off (costumes welcome!) in Cedar Lot 🏃♀️🦸
• 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM: Carnival Games galore at TJNIC – fun for all ages! 🎪
• 9:30 AM: Hero Egg Hunt outside TJNIC 🥚
• For little heroes ages 0–6 and 7–12
• 10:00 AM: Timed 5K & 10K races begin in Cedar Lot – ready, set, go! 🏁⏱️
• After the races: Join us for the Awards Ceremony (TJNIC 106/107) 🏅Awards for best costumes, best dressed dog and fastest superheroes! 🦸🏻♀️
• 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM: Silent Auction (TJNIC 106/107) – bid for a great cause! 💥

Where will you be this Saturday? First, at the TJNIC Innovation Center at NMC’s Front St. Campus. Second, at the finish line, of course!
Northwestern Michigan College business students are teaming up with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwestern Michigan and NMC College for Kids to give you an opportunity to help a child in need. This year donations will be helping “Littles” to attend NMC College for Kids summer programs. The Tenth Annual Big Little Hero Race is taking place April 19, 2025 on the beautiful NMC campus. We are looking for community members, local businesses, avid runners, and anyone seeking fun family events to join us, and be a hero for at risk children.
Both races will start on the NMC main campus, and feature routes that allow runners to take in the picturesque views of Old Mission Peninsula, along East Bay. Awards will be given for top overall male and female finishers for both the 5K and 10K races. Held just a month before the popular Bayshore Marathon, this is a great opportunity to gauge how your training is going!
Aside from the fun run, there will be many other family friendly events. We encourage everyone to join us after the race for food and fun. The best part of the day will be seeing all of the creative superhero costumes, so don’t forget to come dressed as your favorite superhero. Prizes will be given for best adult, child, dog, and group costumes.

The races will be held on Saturday, April 19th 2025 starting outside of the Timothy J. Nelson Innovation Center and Library.

The Fun Run and Carnival will begin at 9 a.m. The Egg Hunt will begin at 9:30 a.m. The National Anthem will start at 9:45 am and upon its completion the 5k and 10k race will begin.

NO! Anyone can register for the race!
Is there a student discount!

Yes! Following the race there will be an awards ceremony to honor the winners.
Who do the proceeds go to?
The proceeds of the race will go to Little’s in the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwestern Michigan to attend NMC’s College for Kids.
